Pixar 1 class notes week 1
Pixar Class Week 1
A brief summary of my first pixar class, oh, it seems like there are a lot of great animators are there :D
Rhythm, Timing, Beat
Rhythm-----pattern, texturing, timing
Learning drawing is vital!
Anticipation------every movement in animation should have
Arc-----every single thing in body should have
No overshoot, no energy
exaggerate first and then pull it back until it's fit with animation(Don't be afraid of exaggerating too much)
focus on PRINCIPLES-----staging, posing, anticipation (mainly missed)
Rhythm, Timing, Spacing-----nail them down FIRST
KEEP IT SIMPLE
They never seen good timing and spacing for Jump assignment
contact frame-----right before and after the energy applies, foot touches the ground, stretch legs
look for contact poses-----key
video reference-----cool motion, we could get the acting that people can't think of consciously
video-reference-----push things more, search what makes animation unique
show 5 times before dailies
be careful the gap between keys-----graph editor
Smooth out until the keys faded out-----I don't know which frame is the keys, ease-in and ease-out
source : Ryo Wakasungi (my class friend)

Story boarding!

Once again after a while...I have a trend of posting stuff after long months for some reason, which I hate to do but I can't help it,unfortunately due to time issues.
This semester is just better like one of the best semesters so far
Character animation 1, Animation for games and story boarding.
I m posting some stuff from the assignment and it was one of the scenes from this cartoon show on nickelodeon called "hey Arnold" from the episode "Stinky goes to hollywood" we were given scripts and we had to do something different from the tv show episode,my class was divided in 2 teams and it was a fun assignment.
check it out! more stuff coming soon (hopefully).
Thanks for looking!

Real or CG?

ok,no prizes for guessing..umm,here goes - alright so I have been working on this alley since almost 6 weeks, the pictures were taken from san francisco,I had to wander everywhere in sf to search for these textures and guess what the more dirty the place the more better, these textures were taken from the dirtiest places and composited together with some techniques to make it look real,I might work on it abit more,I am not yet satisfied with it.
Halloween is coming close,Guess what? next assignment is all pumpkins :D .
Btw the answer is CG - it was done in Maya and adobe photoshop.

My first 2 D animation
Hey there people, finally I have decided to start posting my stuff as I get time,Since I have taken 2d animation classes for this semester,I will be uploading my 2d stuff,What should I say about 2 d animation, well its a pain in the butt thats for sure (well atleast for me) However its a good feeling to watch the stuff that you spend so much time on and especially when it comes to life, but one thing for sure- Its all about timing, its not how good it looks (well it is but the primary thing is timing) So whats timing? In the words of an animator - Timing is the speed of an action,it gives the meaning to movement to both physical and emotional,it is something which keeps the entertainment alive, the perfect gag or the perfect movement which makes spectators laugh etc.
Here is one clip that I worked on for now and new stuff will be up soon.
