I m very happy bout the way my character design came out from paper (2D medium) to a clay portraiture,glad that i can now convert an intangible idea into something tangible which people can observe and understand...its been a long journey and its gonna be even longer after the sem ends...what i learnt here in 4 months would have taken atleast a year or more in India..this one piece is yet to be converted into ceramic and then coloured! hope everything works as planned...more artwork to come..

Cintiq rocks!!!

Just bought my new cintiq!! its so freaking awesome!! worth all the money i guess,things hv been great so far..digital painting is fun..hv been working on clay most of the time and a 3 sec animation..!! winter break in 3 weeks!! wohoo!..running outta time..need to finish my assignments! will post new stuff once done..thnx for looking.

My new banner!

Its been like 2 weeks..have been working hard..trying my best to keep up with the promises i made to myself..attending as many workshops as i can..made lots of new friends at fig drawing classes..tried new mediums,new pencils etc..hv been experimenting so much..but its fun..just a month left for my fall session to end,looking forward for a great christmas.

Made a new banner for my site,thanks to John Park (my great roommate) for helping me out with the banner,it wudn't hv been possible without his help...looking forward to post new stuff as soon as i get time..thnx for looking.

This weeks work!

Wow..have been spending lot of time on assignments! life is crazy..time is flying really fast and what next - i am kinda tired,sleepless,sick etc.. but its cool i love the direction i am heading towards!

There are like 2 drawings out of which i spent most of the time on drapery! it was so terrible,i am not used to working on a cloth..i mean cubes and different shapes..i am more better with human figures rather than cubes,spheres etc.. i think most of the people in my class think the same - they are surely good with humans compared to basic shapes! this week was great..loads of hardwork and stress which got reimbursed by gettin a B minus for the portrait and a C/C minus on the drapery..i felt my instructor was kinda hard at grading drapery..i might rework on it then get my grades updated! until then..

Wow,i got loads of sketches to post! trying best to post them all togther! I am really happy today as i got a nod for my character design,my instructor told me to work hard on illustrations and ofcourse rendering it and I will do something great! yay! i heard a good comment after a very longtime,it just totally cheered me up,1 thing i learned today - everyone has a downfall once in a while but just don't fall with it - keep fighting you will surely get something thats for sure! and i am glad after working on this character design for the 1st time in my life,i got it quite better than i had expected and m kinda happy with it..hoping i do good with illustrations and rendering (keeping fingers crossed)! thanks for looking.

Its been a long long time since i have posted my artwork! finally got enough time to post new stuff that i am happy with! have been doing loads of life drawing and guess what - i am improving really fast! thats it for now!! more stuff coming soon..

All set and ready to DRAW!

It has been a really longtime since i last updated my blog what a shame,unable to scan any drawings its really hard for me to keep up with the ongoing competition in my school,trust me i have never come across this kind of competition in my whole life atleast not in India,i also found that people here come to study in the schools and not for fun unlike in India,the amount of dedication i saw in some students in my class was excellent,can you imagine a person spending 10 hours drawing a bottle which looks like a replica of the original bottle such stuff is really mindboggling.
These people are an inspiration to me and helps me to reach my goal-to do more!
i remember someone saying "Art is 90% sweat & 10% talent" if you need something just go for it,don't care what the returns will be,if not anything you will atleast end up with something...
Recently i have done alot of figure drawing and i m slowly loving it somehow,i want to post them but guess what no luck,no time!! life in america is really fast compared to India..
I always used to reach before time in India,but here the same technique doesn't work anymore-the outcome i reach atleast 5 mins late everywhere which is really sad..its been 2 weeks and i can see some improvement in my drawings and my intrest seems growing getting bigger and bigger..i hope to finish my bfa in a year (fingers crossed) and its a challenge that i am facing getting an A might be difficult but getting a B wouldn't be easy either..in AAU C is considered an average student and D is fail,my only aim is A !! and i want A A A A and only A's!!!!
